Starting to get lots of reports of better fish with temps starting to moderate some. The trout bite continues to pick up, so I am expecting an awesome fall trout season. Eric Gusztaw has sent several pics of really nice fish caught in the local streams here in NE Pa. His “Trout Trifrcta” as he put it, was an unexpected surprise with a rainbow, brown, and a brookie all in the same morning on a spinner. Good smallmouth fishing is picking up as well, getting lots of pics sent in with folks hitting large chunky bronzebacks on both lakes & rivers. Not too much on the striper bite yet, that heat took a toll on their appetite it seems. But cooling temps will certainly trigger some great action in a few weeks. One point worth mentioning, we are startng to see Musky start to get a bit more agressive, with several really nice catches in the past week or two on the Delaware. Hopefully once we get into October, it really heats up to for a great fall bite. Hoping ot get out with Tim Keebler (Fin Seeker Guide Service) for shot at some of those Muskys!
