I personally prefer level wind just for the line management alone only deterrent is for surf and long distant casting I heard it causes problems but I don’t do any more so yes level wind
Surf for me is strictly spinning gear, but I’m on board with you Gen, level wind!
My personal preference is to use a level wind reel. Getting into a nice fish, last thing I want to worry about is line management on my reel. I find very few downsides to using a level wind, and all my trolling rods are setup with them.
Additionally, I also prefer a line counter, just makes quick work of setting gear when on a troll.
